We are committed to building a vibrant and knowledgeable beekeeping community in Southern California, offering education that moves beyond tradition boring methods of being talked at. Our tailored approach to local beekeeping practices ensures that we address the unique challenges and opportunities of our Southern California region.

We will listen, share, and learn from each other, supporting each other through both successes and setbacks. By taking a proactive stance with our hives, staying well-informed, and working together, we will elevate each other’s beekeeping practices.

Our Goals:

Empowering Beekeepers: Equip beekeepers with essential skills, including requeening, to improve bee genetics, enhance community safety, and maintain productive colonies.

Hands-On Learning: Provide practical tools and techniques to ensure beekeepers confidently manage thriving, sustainable hives.

Responsible Hive Management: Including proper hive management, maintaining healthy bee populations through re-Queening with queens from trusted sources, controlling pests like Varroa mites, hive beetles, and providing supplemental feeding when needed to support colony resilience, health and survival.

Protecting Local Ecosystems: Focus on swarm prevention, stopping the spread of pathogens, and avoiding the propagation of invasive species . Support sustainability by planting diverse, drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly flora to enhance forage availability and promote a balanced ecosystem.

This hands-on center will be a vibrant hub where beekeepers can master hive management, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge research tailored to Southern

California.
