OUR MISSION
We are committed to building a vibrant and knowledgeable beekeeping community in Southern California, offering education that moves beyond tradition boring methods of being talked at. Our tailored approach to local beekeeping practices ensures that we address the unique challenges and opportunities of our Southern California region.
Think of this as a network of passionate beekeepers who strive to be part of something greater—a community that grows together, learning and thriving as one. We will listen, share, and learn from each other, supporting each other through both successes and setbacks. By taking a proactive stance with our hives, staying well-informed, and working together, we will elevate each other’s beekeeping practices.
This is our community. A community where every beekeeper, regardless of experience, can feel empowered and supported. Together, we will grow, thrive, and push the boundaries of success in beekeeping, making a lasting difference for our bees ourselves and our environment.

Our Goals:
1. Education
Empowering Beekeepers: Equip beekeepers with essential skills, including requeening, to improve bee genetics, enhance community safety, and maintain productive colonies.
Hands-On Learning: Provide practical tools and techniques to ensure beekeepers confidently manage thriving, sustainable hives.
Responsible Hive Management: Including proper hive management, maintaining healthy bee populations through re-Queening with queens from trusted sources, controlling pests like Varroa mites, hive beetles, and providing supplemental feeding when needed to support colony resilience, health and survival.
Protecting Local Ecosystems: Focus on swarm prevention, stopping the spread of pathogens, and avoiding the propagation of invasive species . Support sustainability by planting diverse, drought-tolerant, pollinator-friendly flora to enhance forage availability and promote a balanced ecosystem.
2. Sustainability
3. Community Impact
Safer Neighborhoods: Reduce risks from aggressive bees through responsible hive management and requeening practices.
Thriving Agriculture: Support robust agricultural ecosystems by expanding hive installations and offering collaborative education.
Food Security: Bees pollinate over 75% of flowering crops, directly supporting food quality and yield. Without them, the stability of our food systems would be at serious risk.
Why This Project Matters
Addressing Critical Challenges
Southern California’s unique environment—year-round beekeeping, unpredictable nectar flows, and the presence of Africanized Honey Bees (AHB)—demands specialized knowledge and sustainable practices.
An Education & Innovation Hub
We’re building The Comprehensive Learning Facility for Beekeeping in collaboration with Orange County Beekeeping Supplies, Hapa Honey Farm, and the City of Industry. This hands-on center will be a vibrant hub where beekeepers can master hive management, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge research tailored to Southern
California.
